The NTA has released the exam schedule for the UGC NET (University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test) 2024 for the June session. Candidates registered for UGC NET June 2024 can check the exam city slip schedule. The details are available at the official website of NTA UGC at ugcnet.nta.ac.in.
As per NTA notification, the exam will be conducted on June 18. It is to be conducted in 2 shifts. The first shift will be between 9.30 a.m. to 12—p.m., for 42 subjects. The second exam shift will be conducted in the 3 pm to 6 pm slot. It will be for the remaining 41 subjects.
NTA notification states, “The National Testing Agency (NTA) will conduct UGC NET June 2024 for
- Award of Junior Research Fellowship Exam and appointment as Assistant Professor
- Appointment as Assistant Professor and admission to Ph.D.
- Admission to PhD (only in 83 subjects)
in OMR sheet mode on 18th June 2024.
The NTA has also said that detailed information about the city of examination will be released 10 days before the exam.
The city intimation slip is a document that shows the exam city of aspirants. The slip contains the student’s name, date of birth, registration number, and the subjects’ respective codes. Admit cards will be released soon.

The NTA will soon release admit cards for the UGC NET June 2024 exam. It is expected after the announcement of the exam city intimation slip. The exam will be conducted for 83 subjects. It will be in OMR mode. It will be for a Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) award, appointment as an assistant professor, and admission to PhD programs in Indian universities and colleges.
UGC NET 2024: Exam date and time
The UGC NET June exam 2024 will be conducted in 181 cities. It will be conducted on June 18, 2024, in OMR mode in two shifts. UGC NET for 42 subjects will be conducted in the morning shift between 9:30 am and 12:30 pm. The exam for 41 subjects will be held from 3-6 pm in the second shift. Previously, the UGC NET exam date was June 16, 2024. It was postponed because of the clash with the UPSC exam on June 16, 2024.
