The bench thereafter referred to Ordinance IV of the University wherein the power to readmit students detained due to shortfall in attendance can be exercised in cases “where absence is on account of genuine reasons such as illness and any other reason beyond the student’s control”.

The bench also perused through medical literature that says that “although psoriasis is perhaps not infectious, it is nevertheless a serious ailment which could impact vital organs such as lungs and the heart, and also lead to death”.
