After a brief stint of ambiguity, the Delhi University administration has clarified that the National Testing Agency will be conducting this year’s entrance examination for a plethora of UG, PG, MPhil and PhD courses. All the DU entrance exams will be held between June 30 and July 6, though the exact date for any examination has not been revealed yet.

In an event of firsts, the National Testing Agency (NTA) set up under Ministry of Human Resources and Development (MHRD) has been entrusted to conduct exams for nine undergraduate courses which include degrees like BA (Hons) Business Economics, BA (Humanities and Social Sciences), Five-Year Integrated Course In Journalism, Bachelor’s of Elementary Education etc.

DU applying EWS quota this year

“The registration for the Five Year Integrated Course in Journalism has started on May 30 and it will go on till June 14. We are also applying the EWS quota for general students and it will be inclusive in the 120 seats that we offer,” says Dr Manasvini M Yogi , OSD of Delhi School of Journalism and the head of University’s central grievances cell.

“The exams will be held from June 30 to July 6 but the aspirants are advised to keep a check on the official DU website for exact dates,” he adds.

DU Admissions 2019: More about the entrance exams

There are 11 undergraduate courses, for which entrance exams will be happening, but for music and physical education, the tests will be conducted internally by the varsity, the officials said as per PTI.

The dates of the entrance exams for the respective courses will be announced on Friday.

The entrance for Delhi University post graduate courses will be held between the same dates for admission in MA, MCom and MSc courses in various departments of Delhi University.

In addition to this, DU will also hold entrance for MPhil and PhD degrees in various specialisations. The shortlisted candidates have to appear for an interview round afterwards.

How will the DU entrance exams take place in 2019?

The DU entrance exams will take place in three sessions per day and CCTV cameras will be placed at all the exam centres.

The two-hour written DU entrance examination will consist of multiple choice questions (MCQs) (four choices each) designed to evaluate the aptitude of applicants through areas as relevant to each subject.

There will be 100 questions and each correct answer will get a score of plus four marks, each wrong answer will get minus one mark, and a question left unanswered will get zero marks.

The answers to the DU entrance exam question paper will be uploaded within 24 hours and 48 hours will be given for airing any kind of grievance or challenge in the answers, said a DU official as per PTI.

DU Admissions 2019: Entrance exam centres

The DU admission entrance exams will be conducted in centres located in Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Bhopal, Bhubaneshwar, Chandigarh, Chennai, Delhi (NCR includes Delhi, Gurugram, Faridabad, Noida, Greater Noida, Sahibabad, Ghaziabad), Guwahati, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Jammu, Kolkata, Mumbai, Nagpur, Patna, Ranchi, Trivandrum and Varanasi for postgraduate courses.
